Service agreement
A service agreement is a recurring arrangement where the customer pays a fixed monthly amount for planned maintenance of the car, typically servicing, oil changes and wear parts to the manufacturer's schedule. It gives the dealer predictable workshop revenue and a standing reason for contact throughout the ownership period.
The service agreement is the only product in car retail that ties the customer to the workshop without legally tying them to buy the next car in the same place. In practice it does both.
The decisive factor is when it is offered. Sold as a phone call three months after delivery, most say no. Present as a line on the sales contract, a large share say yes.
The key metric is attach rate: the share of sold cars that leave with a service agreement.
In CARRUSLiNK
CARRUSLiNK puts the service agreement on the sales contract as a default add-on and tracks attach rate, renewal and churn.
