    Archived lead

An archived lead is a lost lead saved in a structured way with vehicle type, budget and loss reason, instead of being closed and forgotten. The archive is used actively: when a matching car arrives in stock, it is matched automatically against the archive, and purchasing can see which vehicle types are genuinely in demand.

A lead that did not become a sale is rarely a bad lead, it is often a customer with a concrete need and the wrong timing, because the right car was not in stock in time.

The difference between an archived lead and a closed lead is whether it can still be acted on. A closed lead is a bin; an archived lead is an active list with a vehicle type and a budget.

Loss reasons aggregated across the archive give a factual picture of where in the sales process the business actually loses money, instead of isolated anecdotes.
