Inspection data that follows the car — not a folder
Synsbasen is the official source for inspection data in Denmark. CARRUSLiNK automatically retrieves data per vehicle and keeps it updated — so neither buyer, seller, nor workshop has to ask "when was it last inspected?".
Data lookup — search by registration number or VIN
When a car is created or updated in CARRUSLiNK, we automatically check Synsbasen. Inspection data is displayed on the car card, so the salesperson, reconditioning team, and customer have the same overview.
- Lookup by license plate or VIN
- Inspection history, fault codes, and mileage history
- Technical data: engine, weight, fuel, EURO emission standard.
- Official Synsbasen API — Danish government data
Reminders down — action before it's too late
CARRUSLiNK monitors upcoming inspection dates for vehicles in stock, trade-ins, and vehicles on service agreements. You'll receive automatic alerts and can send an SMS to the customer about booking.
- Notification 60, 30, and 7 days before the next inspection.
- Auto-booking in workshop calendar
- Red flags on cars with upcoming inspections in stock
- Trend per brand: typical faults and costs.
From car registered to next inspection completed — without manual lookup
Inspection history automatically follows the car throughout its lifecycle in your system.
Vehicle created in CARRUSLiNK
The salesperson or procurer enters the registration number or VIN. CARRUSLiNK looks up the vehicle in Synsbasen and automatically populates all technical data.
Inspection history on the vehicle card
Previous inspection results (approved, conditional, rejected) and fault codes are clearly displayed — so neither the salesperson nor the buyer is surprised.
Fejlkode-fortolkning
Error codes are translated into clear language ("worn brakes front left side") with estimated repair costs and prioritization.
Notification before next inspection.
60, 30, and 7 days before the next inspection, the system alerts the salesperson or workshop — depending on whether the car is in stock, with a customer, or on a service agreement.
Auto-booking
Customer receives SMS/email with a booking link to the workshop. Booking is placed directly into the workshop calendar.
Trend and report.
See how many cars in stock have an inspection within the next month, and what typical defects cost the most per make. Data for purchasing strategy.
Daily operations before and after Synsbasen integration
Most dealers manually look up inspections — and only when reminded. The result is cars in stock with expired inspections, customers calling in a panic the day before, and bad surprises during a buyer's test drive.
Before integration
- Manual lookup on Synsbasen.dk for each car
- Inspection history not saved structured
- Salesperson surprises buyer with unresolved faults.
- Vehicles in stock with expired inspection are detected too late
- Customer calls the day before — salesperson has no notification
- No data on common errors per make and model year
After integration
- Automatic lookup and update for all vehicles
- Inspection history clearly displayed on the vehicle card
- Error codes translated and prioritized — full transparency
- Red flags on cars in stock with upcoming inspections
- Customer and workshop notified 60, 30, and 7 days prior
- Trend report per brand provides a better purchasing strategy.
How Danish dealers use the Synsbasen integration in everyday operations
Synsbasen is the Danish Road Safety Agency's official database for vehicle inspections in Denmark. Every periodic inspection, re-inspection, special inspection, and test result is there — fully updated. For a dealer, it is an invaluable data source, but in practice, it is used far too rarely because lookup takes time, data is not stored anywhere, and there is no automatic notification.
CARRUSLiNK's Synsbasen integration fundamentally changes this. Instead of viewing inspection data as something looked up once during purchase, we treat it as live data that resides on the vehicle card and drives actions throughout the rest of the system — from purchase decision to the customer's next service agreement.
Better purchasing decisions for trade-ins and acquisitions
When a customer offers a trade-in, or a salesperson considers a purchase, the full inspection history is one of the strongest indicators of the car's true condition. Has it been for re-inspection three times? Are there recurring faults on the same component? How many kilometers have been added since the last inspection?
CARRUSLiNK retrieves the entire history in seconds and automatically shows red flags — so the buyer can adjust the price, or reject the deal entirely. This reduces losses on poor trade-ins and makes used car purchases significantly safer.
Transparency towards the buyer — increases trust.
The classic pre-sale fear is that the buyer finds something in the inspection history that the salesperson hasn't mentioned. CARRUSLiNK turns this around: we show the entire inspection history on the vehicle card, and you can generate a customer report that presents it openly.
Dealers who actively use it consistently experience higher conversion rates on used cars — because trust is the most important competitive parameter, and transparency about history builds it faster than any salesperson's pitch.
Reminders that prevent legal errors
It is illegal to sell a car with an expired inspection — and it's embarrassing to admit it was overlooked. CARRUSLiNK automatically monitors inspection dates for all vehicles in inventory and clearly flags them 60, 30, and 7 days before expiration.
For cars under a service agreement, the notification extends directly to the customer via SMS or email, and the customer can book an inspection time directly at your workshop with one click. This provides both additional service revenue and eliminates the classic “I forgot, can I postpone it?” conversation.
Error code interpretation as clear language
Inspection report fault codes are cryptic for most — including most salespeople. CARRUSLiNK translates them into clear Danish ("worn brakes front left side, medium priority") and links them to estimated repair costs per brand.
This means the salesperson can talk to the customer about "how much does this cost to fix?" in a concrete way, and that prep isn't doing double work with diagnostics.
Trend data that improves the entire business.
Over time, the system builds a database of typical faults per make, model, and year. This provides entirely new insights: "Audi A4 from 2014–2016 has a 40% probability of brake system failure at its 5-year inspection." This type of information aids purchasing, reconditioning, and pricing.
For dealers with multiple branches or multiple brands, this also provides the opportunity to compare across — “which brands are truly the cheapest to stock?” — and thereby refine the strategy on which cars to acquire.
Connected to service agreements and workshop flow
The inspection date is a natural trigger point for service agreements. Many dealers sell service agreements with inspections included, and CARRUSLiNK handles the entire workflow: pre-inspection notification, booking, execution, documentation, and invoicing. The Synsbasen integration is the point where the workflow starts automatically.
If you don't have your own workshop, you can connect the integration to an external workshop via our workshop system integration — and still maintain central oversight.
Security, source, and GDPR
We use Synsbasen's official API, which is open Danish government data. Personal information about owners is not disbursed through Synsbasen — only vehicle data — so GDPR implications are minimal.
All data is stored in the EU and is covered by CARRUSLiNK's data processing agreement. An audit log documents when data has been retrieved per vehicle.
Frequently asked questions
Everything dealers typically ask about before enabling the integration.
01.How up-to-date is the data from Synsbasen?
Live. Synsbasen is updated by the inspection centers, so data is typically available the same day the car is inspected.
02.What do lookups cost?
Included in the CARRUSLiNK subscription at a tiered price from 2,299 DKK/month based on fleet size. No extra charge per lookup.
03.Can I look up vehicles without adding them to inventory?
Yes. Quick lookup (e.g., for trade-in valuation) is possible without creating the car — the history can be saved on a valuation case instead.
04.What about cars without a valid Danish registration number?
VIN can also be used, as long as the car has been inspected in Denmark.
05.Does the buyer automatically receive the MOT report?
You can generate a customer report with one click and share it via email or QR code. Many dealers include it with the ad to build trust.
06.Can you connect Synsbasen to workshop booking?
Yes. If you have your own workshop or integration with an external workshop, inspection times can be booked directly from the notification.
07.Do you also fetch re-inspections and special inspections?
Yes. The entire inspection history is retrieved, including periodic inspections, re-inspections, special inspections, and customs inspections.
08.Does it work with trailers and motorcycles?
Yes, all vehicles with Danish inspection registration. We support cars, trailers, and motorcycles.
