Sales and accounting finally speak the same language

CARRUSLiNK knows your vehicles, customers, and contracts. e-conomic knows your chart of accounts and VAT. The integration automatically translates between them — without the bookkeeper having to enter the same information twice.

Invoices up — from CRM to e-conomic

Sales agreements, trade-in invoices, and service invoices are posted directly in e-conomic with the correct customer, chart of accounts, VAT string, and item lines. Mapping occurs per transaction type — used car, new car, lease, delivery VAT, trade-in, etc.

    • Sales agreement → invoice in e-conomic automatically
    • Correct VAT code per transaction type
    • Margin scheme VAT, EU trade, and partial deduction supported
    • Official e-conomic API — supported and stable

Payments down — status back to CRM

When the customer pays and the payment is registered in e-conomic, the deal status in CARRUSLiNK is updated. Reminders, dunning letters, and gross profit reporting pull live figures from the accounting records.

    • Paid status visible on the deal in CRM
    • Customer and supplier synchronized both ways
    • Bank reconciliation and payment matching in e-conomic
    • Contribution margin per car based on actual posted figures
    How it works

From signed bill of sale to reconciled bank account — automatically

The entire process from signed sales document to money in the account and posted — without manual entry.

    Steps. 1

    Sales agreement signed

The customer signs via MitID or Penneo. CARRUSLiNK marks the deal as won and prepares the invoice.

    Steps. 2

    Auto-mapping to chart of accounts

Vehicle, trade-in, delivery costs, registration tax, and financing are allocated to the correct accounts and VAT strings — per transaction type.

    Steps. 3

    Invoice posted in e-conomic

The invoice is created in e-conomic with the correct customer, line items, and VAT codes. Documents are archived on the customer card in the CRM.

    Steps. 4

    Customer pays

The payment is registered in e-conomic (or via a connected payment integration). CARRUSLiNK automatically updates the deal status.

    Steps. 5

    Bank-afstemning

e-conomic matches bank transactions against invoices. Unreconciled amounts are flagged for follow-up — and the bookkeeper only sees what's relevant.

    Steps. 6

    Contribution margin report per car

CARRUSLiNK retrieves actual posted figures from e-conomic and displays contribution margin per car, brand, salesperson, and month.

Daily operations before and after e-conomic integration

Most dealers spend 10–15 hours per month just moving figures between the sales system and accounting. That number approaches zero with the integration.

    Before integration

    • Sales agreement manually entered as an invoice in e-conomic
    • Incorrect VAT codes and erroneous postings must be corrected later
    • Customer data is maintained in both CRM and e-conomic
    • Trade-in, registration tax, and delivery costs are forgotten
    • Contribution margin per car is a guess — or a spreadsheet that never adds up
    • Month-end closing takes days and requires overtime

    After integration

    • Invoice is automatically posted when sales agreement is signed
    • VAT codes mapped per transaction type — no corrections needed
    • Customers synchronized both ways — one source of truth
    • All item lines (car, trade-in, fee, delivery) are correctly posted
    • Contribution margin per car based on actual posted figures in real-time
    • Month-end closing completed in e-conomic without manual transfer

How car dealers run on e-conomic with CARRUSLiNK

e-conomic is one of Denmark's most widely used accounting systems, and many independent car dealerships use it. The challenge is not the accounting itself — the challenge is the manual work between the sales system and accounting. Sale agreements must be moved manually, item lines must be mapped, margin VAT must be handled, trade-ins must be correctly offset, and documents must be archived in the right place.

CARRUSLiNK's e-conomic integration is built specifically for the Danish automotive industry. It's not a generic invoice sync — it's an industry-adapted accounting engine that understands used car VAT, trade-in rules, registration tax, delivery costs, and financing mediation.

    Industry-adapted VAT engine

We support out-of-the-box margin VAT, standard VAT, EU trade, export without VAT, and partial deductions. When a deal is created in CARRUSLiNK, the salesperson selects the trade type — and the rest happens automatically. The margin VAT calculation takes into account the cost price, and the margin is posted to the correct account.

For dealers who handle both used and new vehicles, this means avoiding two different invoicing systems or an intermediate Excel sheet where the used VAT is adjusted. Everything runs in one flow.

Trade-in, registration tax, and delivery costs

A typical Danish car sale has 6–10 line items: the car itself, trade-in with offset, registration tax, license plates, delivery cost, optional extras, financing referral, and optional insurance mediation. Each line item must be posted to the correct account, and several of them have special VAT implications.

CARRUSLiNK has a built-in mapping for all these item lines. You set up the mapping to your own chart of accounts once during onboarding — then everything is automatically posted correctly every time.

    Customers and suppliers synchronized

When you create a new customer in CARRUSLiNK, they are also created in e-conomic — or matched against an existing customer if the CVR or email is the same. The same applies to suppliers (typically when you have bought a trade-in car or receive goods from a spare parts company).

This ensures that you don't suddenly have the “same customer” listed three times in e-conomic because of different spellings or a missing CVR number. Maintenance is done from CARRUSLiNK, and it propagates to e-conomic.

    Service agreements and subscription payment

If you sell service agreements (our ROI example is 650 DKK/month), a recurring invoice is created in e-conomic, and payment matching happens automatically. Customers who fall behind are marked on CARRUSLiNK's dashboard — making it easy to see which agreements need follow-up.

This means that ongoing service operations can actually be managed without getting bogged down in overdue payment management and manual invoicing.

Contribution margin per car based on actual figures

Many dealers don't know exactly what they earned on a specific car — because the figures from accounting records and inventory don't match. The integration pulls actual recorded cost prices, reconditioning costs, and sales prices into CARRUSLiNK and calculates gross profit per car in real time.

This gives management a completely different level of insight: which brands, which price ranges, and which salespeople are genuinely most profitable — not based on guesswork, but on actual figures from the financial statements.

    Security, GDPR, and audit trail

The integration runs on e-conomic's official API with OAuth. We do not store passwords. All transactions are fully traceable in both CARRUSLiNK and e-conomic, and an audit log documents who, when, and what amount.

Data is processed in the EU and is covered by CARRUSLiNK's data processing agreement. Documents are archived on the customer card and can be exported to the auditor without manual work.

    Onboarding in 2–4 hours

We review your chart of accounts and transaction types together, set up the mapping once, import existing customers from e-conomic, and run a test invoice. After that, the flow is live, and the bookkeeper can see postings arrive in e-conomic in real-time.

We have set up the e-conomic integration for dealers ranging from 5 to 500 cars per month without issues — the mapping is the same, only the volume differs.

    Frequently asked questions

Everything dealers typically ask about before enabling the integration.

01.Does the integration support used vehicle VAT?

Yes, fully — including margin calculation, correct chart of accounts, and settlement. Used car VAT is a core part of the engine.

02.What about leasing and financing brokerage?

Commission income from financing and leasing is posted as separate line items to the correct account. We support the most common financing providers in Denmark.

03.Can I still use my own chart of accounts?

Yes. We map to your existing chart of accounts during onboarding — we don't force any new structure on you.

04.Is the bookkeeping real-time or batch?

Real-time by default. You can choose batch mode (e.g., nightly) if you prefer.

05.What happens if an invoice needs to be credited?

You issue a credit note from CARRUSLiNK, and it is automatically posted in e-conomic with correct contra entries.

06.Does the integration work with the e-conomic "Lite" subscription?

No. The e-conomic API requires a minimum Standard subscription. Check with e-conomic or us if you are unsure about your plan.

    07.What does the integration cost?

The e-conomic integration is included in the CARRUSLiNK subscription at a tiered price from 2,299 DKK/month based on fleet size. Your e-conomic subscription is paid separately to e-conomic.

    08.Can the auditor get access?

Yes, via e-conomic's normal auditor access. Documents and audit trails are available in both systems.
